We are facing an epidemic of pornography on the Internet of which the repercussions remain not fully understood. In fact it is frightening. With the click of a mouse, anyone, at any age, anytime can view porn online.

Governments are still tied up by the “it’s a free-speech issue” argument. The porn industry has managed to hold onto the theory that porn is victimless entertainment that involves only an individual and the consenting adults who participate. Regulations has yet to catch up with reality sufficient reason for technology. In a global where anyone can produce and upload porn videos or images, the web has become filled to the brim with hardcore pornography and disturbing content that nobody should be exposed to, let alone our children!

A written report from the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, N.J.,entitled, “The Social Costs of Pornography” points to new social science and brain research, and finds evidence that pornography causes multifaceted harms and warns that people will pay the price for this.

There is no amount of education or warning that may prevent children from viewing pornography on the net today. The average child will dsicover porn by age eleven online. Children are curious, children share links by email, by chat, on smart phones… Really the only solution today is to use a porn filter on each computer your child has access to. At home, friends, grandparents, school, the library, make certain a porn filter is installed on the computer. Demand it. It will not go away in the event that you ignore it.
